The Coming of Christ: Rescue the Perishing

The first candle of Advent represents hope. How can our hope be assured on this side of eternity? When we look into John 3:16, we understand that our hope is in the present reality of the full glory of God in eternal life. Hope is not a future concept but a present reality. Our hope is in the first advent of Christ who came as the Lamb of God to take away our sin and rescue the perishing.
